Cepacol is an over the counter medication used to relieve pain associated with a sore throat or mouth. Cepacol belongs to a groups of drugs called local anesthetics, which is a numbing agent that will numb the sore throat or mouth. 

This medication comes in an oral (by mouth) liquid spray and a lozenge form. The Oral liquid spray can be used up to 4 times a day, while the lozenge can be used every 2 hours.

Common side effects of Cepacol is tenderness and numbness of the area.
