Clorazepate is a prescription medication used to treat anxiety and seizures. Clorazepate belongs to a group of drugs called benzodiazepines. These work by reducing abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

This medication comes in tablet form and is taken 1 to 3 times a day, with or without food.

Common side effects of clorazepate include upset stomach, drowsiness, and dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how clorazepate affects you.
