Dipyridamole is a prescription medication used to reduce the risk of blood clots after heart valve replacement. Dipyridamole belongs to a group of drugs called antiplatelet agents. It works by preventing excessive blood clotting.

This medication comes in tablet form and is taken typically 4 times a day.

Common side effects of dipyridamole include stomach upset, headache, and rash. Dipyridamole can also cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how dipyridamole affects you.
