Maalox Children's is an over the counter medication used to relieve symptoms of acid indigestion, heartburn, and sour stomach. The ingredient in Maalox Children's, is calcium carbonate, and belongs to a group of drugs call antacids. Antacids work by neutralizing the acid in the stomach and help reduce symptoms of heartburn. 

This medication comes in a chewable tablet form and is usually 2-4 times a day as needed.

Common side effects of Maalox Children's include constipation and headaches.
