Iris Romero, M.D.

Iris Romero, MD, MS, is a gynecologist with expertise in general gynecology, cancer prevention, and family planning. She provides long term gynecologic care to individuals at high risk for gynecological cancer including individuals with a strong family history of cancer or other cancer risk factors. She is particularly interested in the link between increased body weight and cancer. Dr. Romero takes an individualized approach integrating cancer prevention into routine gynecological care.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Romero has an active research laboratory focused on the prevention of gynecologic cancers. The goal of her research is to identify safe and inexpensive agents for gynecologic cancer prevention for high risk women. Dr. Romero’s research is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and non-profit foundations.
