Phoslyra is a medication used to lower serum phosphorus levels in patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD).

Phoslyra belongs to a group of drugs called phosphate binders. These work by binding to phosphate in the body to pass it through the digestive system and eliminate the phosphate through the stool.

Phoslyra comes in an oral solution and is taken typically 3 times a day, with meals.

Common side effects of Phoslyra include diarrhea, hypercalcemia (calcium level in the blood are above normal), and nausea.
