Savaysa is a prescription medication used to reduce the risk of stroke and dangerous blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation, which is a common type of abnormal heart rhythm.

Savaysa also treats blood clots that have traveled in the body and cause deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

Savaysa belongs to a group of drugs called direct factor Xa inhibitors which are anti-clotting medications. These work by blocking the action of a certain natural substance that helps blood clots to form.

This medication comes in tablet form and is taken typically once a day.

Common side effects of Savaysa include bleeding and anemia.
