Diprivan is a prescription medication used for sedation and anesthesia. Diprivan belongs to a group of drugs called general anesthetics. These work by slowing activity in the brain to prevent pain and allow sleep. 

This medication is available in an injectable form to be given directly into a vein (IV) by a healthcare professional. 

Common side effects of Diprivan include low blood pressure, low heart rate, difficulty breathing, and local irritation at the injection site. 

Diprivan can also cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how Diprivan affects you.
