Dutrebis Overview
Dutrebis is a prescription medication used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.
Dutrebis is a single product containing 2 medications: lamivudine and raltegravir.
Lamivudine belongs to a group of drugs called nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTI), which block a process HIV and viruses need to reproduce.
Raltegravir belongs to a group of drugs called integrase inhibitors. This medication works by blocking the activity of a substance in the virus (HIV) called HIV integrase which is required to make more viruses.
Dutrebis comes in tablet form and is usually taken twice daily, with or without food.
According to the manufacturer, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Dutrebis, will not be made commercially available in the U.S. at this time.
