Muricin is a prescription medication used to treat skin infections, caused by certain types of bacteria, in dogs. Muricin belongs to a group of drugs called topical antibiotics, which are used directly on the skin to kill bacteria. 

This medication comes in an ointment and is usually applied 2 times a day.

Muricin Precautions

Due to a potential hazard for nephrotoxicity due to polyethylene glycol content of the product base, exercise care in use for extensive deep lesions where absorption of large quantities of polyethylene glycol is possible.

Muricin and Pregnancy

Safety in pregnant or breeding animals has not been determined.

Muricin Usage

Prior to treatment, the lesion should be cleansed.

Muricin ointment should be applied to the affected area twice a day. Apply a sufficient amount of ointment to completely cover the infected area.

Maximum duration of treatment should not exceed 30 days.

Muricin Dosage

Apply Muricin exactly as prescribed by the veterinarian. Follow the directions on the prescription label carefully.

Other Requirements

Store Muricin at room temperature at between 15° and 30°C (59° and 86°F).

Keep this and all medicines out of the reach of children.
