Oxcarbazepine is a prescription medication used to treat partial seizures in adults and children 2 years and older with epilepsy. It may be used alone or with other medications. Oxcarbazepine belongs to a group of drugs called anticonvulsants, which work by decreasing abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
