Thomas A Buchholz, M.D., F.A.C.R.

Dr. Buchholz is Professor and Division Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He holds the Frank T. McGraw Chair for the Study of Cancer. His academic interests focus on clinical and translational research in breast cancer and radiation oncology.

Specific interests include studying molecular determinants of treatment resistance and investigating novel combinations of targeted therapy with radiation to improve the therapeutic outcome. Finally, Dr. Buchholz has a strong interest in education and mentoring junior faculty and trainees in both clinical and translational research.

Dr. Buchholz has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed original research articles. He is a Fellow in the American College of Radiology and is consistently named among the Top Doctors in America (Castle Connolly Medical Ltd) and Best Doctors in America (Best Doctors Inc.).
