Ultracef is a prescription medication used to treat infections of the urinary tract, skin, and throat. Ultracef belongs to a group of drugs called cephalosporin antibiotics. These work to kill bacteria.

This medication comes as an oral (by mouth) tablet, capsule, and liquid (suspension). It is usually taken 1 to 2 times a day, with or without food. If Ultracef causes an upset stomach, take Ultracef with food or milk.

Common side effects of Ultracef include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
